PUTRAJAYA: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, wants the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry (Ministry) proposal to examine the pricing mechanism is not subsidized cooking oil to prevent traders took the opportunity to raise prices.

Ahmad Zahid said the non-governmental organizations (NGOs), citizens and the media need to work together to channel proposals for that purpose to the attention of the ministry, Datuk Hamzah Zainudin.

"The Minister may bring a good proposal to the Cabinet for consideration by the entire people," he told reporters after launching the Innovation Day Home Ministry (KDN) here, today.

He was commenting on a front-page report today on the BH ministry's proposal to seek oil pricing mechanism following the restructuring of the basic material prices applicable from 1 November.

Moreover, Ahmad Zahid Border Control Agency Malaysia (eczema) and the ministry's enforcement officers to improve border controls to curb smuggling of cooking oil to neighboring countries.

"Based on the information, smuggling occurs in the alley rats and non-formal routes," he said.

Meanwhile, in his speech, he wanted the agencies under the ministry prepared for the flood season soon.
